How To Make a Quick Latte at Home (Hot or Iced)

Are you feeling calm and full of love? Good. We won’t teach you how to make a heart within a heart within a heart with foam like a professional barista, but you’ll fall for this quick and foamy latte recipe nonetheless.

Prep Time: 5-7 minutes

Ingredients:

Water

1/4 cup

Instant Coffee

1 packet

Milk

3/4 cup milk (almond, oat, regular - your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve a packet of specialty instant coffee in a cup and add any sugar or flavoring if you prefer it. You can also just use a flavored specialty instant coffee to keep things simple!

  2. Add a shot glass size of cold milk to the cup and stir until everything is fully dissolved.

  3. Add boiling water to the cup if you’re making a hot latte. For a cold latte, just add room temp or cold water.

  4. In a separate cup or container, microwave the milk for 1 minute and 30 seconds or heat it up on a portable stove if you’re camping. Don’t heat it up if you’re making an iced latte.

  5. Take the milk and run it through a french coffee press to froth it. If you don’t have one, you can take a small whisk to it until frothy.

  6. Slowly pour the frothy milk atop the coffee. It’s usually best to tilt the coffee while pouring the frothed milk on the surface. Just like a beer on tap, except you want the foam here :D

  7. Add ice if it’s an iced latte

Bonus:

  1. Add any powder toppings you prefer. Chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut, cinnamon, you name it!
